The Summer Split of the North American League Championship Series (NA LCS) will begin on May 30, and as usual, there will be many new faces joining the veterans of the scene.
This split should be even more competitive than the Spring Split was, with the winner this summer earning a free trip to the 2015 World Championships.
Team SoloMid is the favorite going into the summer as they are coming off of a very strong Spring, during which they won not only the NA LCS, but also the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship.
Star mid-laner and spring split MVP Soren “Bjergson” Bjerg will look to lead TSM to another first place finish.
TSM repeatedly said that they were trying out strategies that would allow the other team members to help carry the game, but the team looks to be strongest when Bjergson gets rolling early.
After a disappointing finish at the Mid-Season Invitational, TSM will look to get back on track against the familiar competition in North America as they continue to prep for a hopeful trip to the World Championships.
TSM should look to make sure that top-laner Marcus “Dyrus” Hill is able to stay relevant throughout the game. For most of the Spring Split, TSM allocated most of their resources towards the bottom half of the map, leaving Dyrus to fend for himself against multiple opponents many times. While Dyrus generally was able to handle the pressure, having jungler Lucas “Santorin” Larsen invest some time in the top lane could easily throw TSM’s opponents off of the popular “camp Dyrus” strategy that most teams employ.
